Flooring for hospitals, clinics and laboratories

Healthcare and lab floors must be easy to clean, resist chemicals and stay seamless at the wall. We build them around infection control and occupied buildings.

Joints, seams and loose cove base trap moisture and dirt. In a patient room or a lab, that becomes a cleaning problem. We install seamless resin floors that run up the wall as an integral cove, so there is no gap between floor and wall for soil to collect. Systems are chosen for the disinfectants, reagents and cleaning methods each room actually sees.

Most healthcare work happens in buildings that never close. Our crews work nights, weekends and in phases, and we plan containment, odour control and access with your facilities and infection control teams before work begins. Every price is confirmed after a site assessment, and all work is warrantied, with terms set per project.

What the floor has to handle

Built for how the space is used

Sanitary, seamless designA monolithic resin floor with an integral cove leaves no seams or open joints. This supports easy cleaning and a sanitary finish at the wall line.
Chemical and disinfectant exposureLabs and clinical spaces see solvents, acids and strong disinfectants. We select epoxy or urethane systems rated for the specific chemicals in each room.
Occupied, sensitive buildingsWork is phased by zone with containment and scheduled for nights or weekends. Low-odour products are used where patients or staff are nearby.
Moisture in older slabsMany hospital slabs hold moisture that causes coatings to blister. We test first and apply moisture mitigation where readings call for it.
Integral coving

Why coves matter

A cove carries the floor up the wall in one seamless piece. There's no joint at the base of the wall for water, chemicals or bacteria to get into.

DELAGA installs radius and 45° coves from 2" to 9" high, in the same resin as the floor, so floor and wall base clean as one surface.

Waterproof wall baseWith a urethane cement or polyurethane system, floor and cove form one sealed, chemical-resistant surface. Wash-down water stays out of the wall joint.
No mould at the wall lineMoisture can't seep into the floor-to-wall joint, so mould and bacteria have nowhere to grow.
Faster, cleaner wash-downRadius coves have no corner for dirt to pack into. Hoses and squeegees reach every edge.
A detail inspectors look forSealed, cleanable wall bases are expected in food, healthcare and lab spaces. Coves help your facility meet that standard.

Common in commercial kitchens, food processing, hospitals and labs, manufacturing and mechanical rooms.

Questions

Healthcare & Laboratories: FAQ

Can you work while the facility stays open?

Yes. We phase work by area, set up containment and schedule nights or weekends. Plans are reviewed with your facilities and infection control staff first.

What cove height do you recommend?

Most clinical spaces use a 4 to 6 inch integral radius cove. We install coves from 2 to 9 inches to match wall finishes and cleaning needs.

Will the floor hold up to hospital disinfectants?

We choose the resin system based on the disinfectants and chemicals you use. Share your cleaning products during the site assessment so we can match them.

Is a resin floor suitable for long-term care?

Yes. Seamless floors are easy to clean and can include a slip-resistant texture in washrooms and tub rooms where floors get wet.
